The Village of McCool Junction is home to McCool Junction Public Schools. McCool Junction’s Public School is a K-12 facility which continues to grow, now having 248 students. The elementary school was built in 1965, with the junior/senior high facility constructed in 1916. Operating expenses in 2006 were $1,760,000, which is an average cost of $7,486 per student. Eighty percent of the McCool Junction high school students take the ACT Test, with an average score of 21. Eighty-eight percent of graduating seniors attend college, with the remaining 12 percent entering the labor market. Vocational classes are offered at the high school. The McCool Junction Learning Center and Public Library will be finished soon and will be fully utilized for the upcoming 2007-2008 school year.
