The Village of McCool Junction is home to McCool Junction Public Schools. McCool Junction’s Public School is a K-12 facility that educates around 240 students. The 1916 two & a half story building still stands proud and houses mostly secondary classrooms. The original elementary wing was built in 1965 and was added onto in 2015. More secondary classrooms and the public library are located in the Learning Center, and this was completed in 2007. All Juniors take the ACT as part of the Nebraska Department of Education’s Nebraska Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS) and our average score for 2023 was 18.5. Depending on the school year, we have around 75% of graduating students attending college. Operating expenses for the 2021-22 school year were $4,475,083.00 which is an average cost of $19,225.00 per student.
